Labs & Centers

1. Medical AI Lab, Dr. Min Shi, Fair and trustworthy medical imaging and multimodal AI

  • The lab is dedicated to the interdisciplinary study of artificial intelligence (AI) in healthcare and medicine. We focus on utilizing advanced computational techniques such as data mining, machine learning, and deep learning to tackle critical biomedical challenges. Our objective is to enhance the understanding, diagnosis and clinical management of human diseases through cutting-edge AI-driven tools and methodologies.

2. Wireless Embedded Device Security (WEDS) Lab, Dr. Xiali (Sharon) Hei, Cyber-physical system security and data analytics

  • The primary mission of the WEDS Laboratory is to provide an experimental and collaborative environment for investigating the vulnerabilities and defenses of cyber-physical systems (CPS) and modern data analytics. Their work directly impacts the security frameworks of smart infrastructure, internet-of-things (IoT) devices, and wireless technologies.
    • Cyber-Physical System (CPS) Security: Investigating vulnerabilities and defense mechanisms in connected hardware, smart critical infrastructure, and wireless networks.
    • Data Analytics: Applying data-driven methodologies to identify threats, anomalies, and security patterns in embedded environments.

3. AI CyberSafe Innovations Lab (AICSIL), Dr. Shuvalaxmi Dass,  AI-driven cybersecurity, IoT security, and biometrics

  • AI CyberSafe Innovations Lab (AICSIL) is an academic research lab dedicated to using the power of Artificial Intelligence to build innovative and robust defense solutions to tackle real-world cybersecurity problems. With the goal of making software systems secure and trustworthy, AICSIL lab is committed to staying ahead of the security curve.
