Applied AI Research: We conduct applied AI research in partnership with industry, translating advances in AI and machine learning into deployable systems that work in real-world. AI can accelerate the development of software and digital solutions, but moving these systems into production brings reliability, safety, and performance constraints. Our research is problem-driven, covering the design, evaluation, and verification of AI systems for real-world use. This work is aligned with the needs of key sectors, including life sciences, energy, manufacturing, and government, and supports their adoption of reliable, safe AI systems.
Workforce Development: We engage interdisciplinary students (across engineering, computer science, business) in industry-funded projects, giving them hands-on experience solving real problems alongside industry partners.
Economic Development: By connecting research, talent, and industry need, we translate applied AI research into regional and sector-wide economic growth.
